Adult Literacy for Life in Laois and Offaly

Adult Literacy for Life is a whole-of-society strategy. It aims to ensure that everyone has the literacy, numeracy and digital literacy to participate in society and succeed in life. Read the Adult Literacy for Life strategy.

Hello, my name is Róisín Lawlor.

I am the Regional Literacy Coordinator for Laois and Offaly. My role is to support adults to build their literacy skills, grow their confidence, and reach their full potential in everyday life. I work with communities, local organisations, and partners to make sure people can access the supports they need.

The Adult Literacy for Life (ALL) strategy aims to make sure every adult feels included and supported, and can take part fully in society, at work, and in daily life.

In Laois and Offaly, we are putting this strategy into action through our Regional Literacy Coalition. By working together with local partners, we are shaping the literacy supports available in our region. Together, we are championing adult literacy and opening more pathways for learners.

Our goal is simple: remove barriers, build confidence, and support adults to strengthen their literacy skills. When we work together, we build a stronger and more inclusive community.

If you would like to get involved or become an advocate for adult literacy, please get in touch. My email is rlawlor@loetb.ie
