Join us for a series of free online lunchtime webinars bringing together people, organisations and communities to explore literacy in real life.
Literacy is part of everyday life. It helps us to understand health information, participate in the workplace, navigate the digital world and make choices and connections within our communities.
Regional Literacy Coordinators (RLCs), developed a webinar series. They came together to create a programme that brings different voices and perspectives from across the literacy community to the conversation.
Community organisations, practitioners, partners and learners share knowledge, experiences and perspectives on the role literacy plays in everyday life. Learner voice is an important part of the series, ensuring people engaging with literacy learning are heard alongside those working to support them.

Navigating health with confidence
Explore how health literacy can help people access, understand and use health information with confidence.
Featuring: Suzanne Newland, regional Roma health lead at Health Service Executive (HSE) Social Inclusion Dublin and South East, will talk about how becoming a literacy champion deepened her understanding of literacy as a health issue.
Hannah Gross, assistant professor in physical activity at Dublin City University (DCU), will talk about community health education that works for everyone.
Doreen, a HSE mental health service coordinator, will talk about Traveller mental health.

Explore how employers and educators can support their workforces.
Featuring: Angela Boyle Shafer from the National Programme Office for Adult Literacy for Life will talk about how you can become a literacy champion in the workplace.

Discover how digital and financial literacy projects are helping people throughout Ireland.
Featuring: Geraldine Colgan, senior executive librarian with Wicklow County Council Library Service, will talk about the DigiLit@ Your Library project.
Tracey Kierans and Tessa Mulligan, IT tutors at Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB), will talk about how local Collaboration and Innovation Fund (CIF) projects delivered digital skills training.
Mary Mitchell, adult educator at Dublin college, Blanchardstown will talk about how strong partnerships between organisations support financial literacy in local communities.

Real stories from learners
Discover how learners returned to education and built their confidence by improving their literacy skills.
Featuring: Pam Noonan, literacy ambassador from Limerick Clare Education and Training Board (LCETB), will talk about completing her junior certificate at 71.
Brian O'Donnell, literacy ambassador for Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board (KCETB), will talk about finding the confidence to return to education.
Anthony Magee, literacy ambassador for Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board(WWETB), will talk about how improving his literacy skills helped his career.
