About this project
This project addressed literacy and numeracy needs among migrant parents and caregivers. It empowered them to support their children’s education and navigate the Irish school system.
The course content was co-developed by staff, tutors, partners, and participants. Adult classes were held weekly. Participant-led classes saw parents, grandparents, and caregivers bring in their children’s homework and discussed challenges.
Some sessions addressed how the Irish school system works, differences from other countries, and parental expectations.
The project provided a unique and supportive space for migrant parents to ask questions, build confidence, and connect with peers.
