Creating an online training course for Plain Irish tutors.

This project developed an online training course for adult literacy tutors who teach Plain Irish. The course will help tutors and community development workers raise literacy awareness in Irish-speaking areas.

The film production company Fíbín made course videos in their studio in Baile na hAbhann, Conamara. Editors and designers worked on Powerpoint slides in Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board (GRETB) offices in Connemara.

56 videos, Powerpoint presentations, and downloadable handouts have been completed so far. 12 Family Learning tutors in Connaught, Munster, and Ulster Gaeltacht areas will test the course out over a five-week period. This pilot course will be complete by May 2024.

This project was a collaboration between GRETB and Údarás na Gaeltachta.
