This project was a collaboration between Offaly Local Development Company, Family Resource Centre (FRC), Home School Liaison (HSCL), Laois and Offaly Library Services, Money Advice and Budgeting (MABS) and local traveller action groups.
This project was designed for parents and families within our local community.
This Breakfast Buddies project took place on two mornings in 2024. Over 50 parents attended on each morning. Parents ate breakfast together and learned about other workshops and services in the community. Parents also got information on events in the library and the local community.
Parents are taking more family learning classes in Birr Library and Portlaoise Family Resource Centre in 2025.

The Adult Literacy for Life Collaboration and Innovation Fund
The Collaboration and Innovation Fund supports projects for adults with unmet literacy, numeracy and digital literacy needs and projects that support organisations to be literacy friendly. The closing date for 2024 applications has now passed but keep an eye out for information on our 2025 fund which will be launched in December.
