Digital literacy course for older adults in Cavan and Monaghan

About this project

This project aimed to improve digital skills and reduce isolation among older people.

The course

  • integrated a social outlet with digital skills learning,  

  • used a curriculum based on learner interests, and  

  • encouraged peer-to-peer learning with in a welcoming environment.

In-person workshops took place in libraries and community hubs across Cavan and Monaghan. They ran three hours per week for four weeks between June and July and September and December.  

They offered smartphone help and opportunities for socializing. The course combined digital help and peer-to-peer support, targeting all adults and especially older people.
