Promoting health literacy among migrants through soccer

About this project

This project aimed to improve health literacy through soccer for people living in International Protection Accommodation Service (IPAS) centres in Longford and Westmeath.  

Educators ran a series of workshops over six weeks focusing on: 

  • health and wellbeing, 

  • digital literacy,  

  • financial literacy,  

  • heart health, and  

  • workshops tailored to learner needs.

Facilitators also showed learners how to use the following services: 

  • money and budgeting services, 

  • libraries, 

  • civil defence services, and 

  • community services.
