About this project

Climate Ceardaoícht was a series of 11 climate literacy events held in Cahersiveen over a 2-week period. This pilot series celebrated climate creativity and communicated solutions for a climate-resilient future.

This initiative aimed to build awareness about climate literacy in an accessible way. It encouraged people to act and change their behaviours by using multiple formats and approaches to engage the local community.

More about this project

Climate Ceardaíocht addressed multiple forms of literacy, including:

  • climate literacy,

  • adult literacy,

  • numeracy,

  • critical literacy, and

  • digital literacy.

The festival’s activities provided a framework for skill-building and included interactive workshops, art and film events. Climate Ceardaíocht promoted inclusivity by reaching out to marginalised groups. This was achieved through targeted outreach, free access, and accessible resources.
