Creative Computers: Digital Skills for Healthy Living

Helping people develop skills to navigate the digital world.

Course Participants

"I now understand how to use my phone better. The apps Lisa introduced us to are very helpful. Lovely group of people in the class and Lisa allowed all of us to have our say. We also learned a lot from each other." Quote from participant

This course helped people develop skills to safely navigate the digital world. Courses addressed people's digital needs and focused on their economic and cultural surroundings.

Classes ran from October to December 2023 and took place every Tuesday in the Brill Family Resource Centre. Ten participants improved their digital skills, learnt how to use digital planning tools, and how to keep their devices safe with online cyber security.

Learners talked about mental health struggles and challenges. They also forged a close bond with one another.

Learners can navigate websites, download apps, and search for content on Google or YouTube thanks to this course. Participants say their confidence has soared. They eagerly share their newfound knowledge with friends and family.

"Made me aware of all the apps available to aid, educate and interest me in taking more time to myself without guilt." Quote from participant

This project was the result of a collaboration between Access I.T, Family Resource Centre For Ballybeg/Kilbarry, Larchville, Lisduggan and Manor St John, and Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board (WWETB).
