About this project
This project aimed to increase financial independence, confidence and everyday money skills among people with special needs.
Facilitators created a financial literacy course that addressed a gap in disability services. The course combined ETB teaching expertise with RehabCare’s knowledge of disability.

Tipperary ETB delivered in-person training with tutors through classroom-based workshops for two small groups, tailored to individual needs. This small-group approach made it possible to tailor content, adjust the pace of learning, and provide supports to learners.
The course focused on essential financial topics such as
understanding money,
budgeting,
saving,
banking, and
safe spending.
Content was broken down into small sections and delivered using clear language, visual supports, and real-world examples.
The course delivered role-play scenarios and hands-on exercises, such as practising shopping on a budget or recognising coins and notes.
