This project fostered a love of reading and helped parents build reading habits at home with their children.

A KCETB tutor delivered 2-hour sessions over 10 weeks from September to November 2025 at the Droichead family resource centre.
The course used shared reading and themed hands-on activities to improve family literacy.
Workshops combined shared reading with sensory, book-themed activities, embedding literacy into family routines.
The program promoted a multi-generational learning approach by equipping families with tools to support literacy at home.
It created a sustainable model extending beyond the course. Each family received books and resources to replicate activities at home.
