About this project
This project gave learners the knowledge and practical skills needed to navigate the healthcare system. It developed literacy skills for clearer communication and easier engagement with healthcare services.

Three two-hour workshops took place in local community centres, followed by a four-week in-person course at Dublin College, Blanchardstown.
The project integrated health literacy with digital tools, including the HSE App. Literacy tutors applied universal design principles when designing and delivering the course.
Workshops covered
health literacy and family literacy supports,
literacy course delivery,
using the HSE App,
guidance towards health resources, and
a visit to a local pharmacist.
