This project was a collaboration between Cork City Libraries and Cork ETB FET Services.
This project produced a Guide to English Language Learning & Advice Services for Migrants and Non-English Speakers in Cork City. It provides information on free literacy and advocacy services in the Cork City area for migrants and new English speakers.
The project took place between June and December 2024 in Cork City.
Project partners worked together to collate information and to design, develop, translate, and print the booklet.
This booklet lists all these literacy and language services in one place. It also includes information on how to access learning services in Cork City Libraries.
The booklet highlights free online courses in English, and other opportunities for English conversation in clubs and social groups.
This booklet is being distributed widely across Cork city, and to agencies and organisations who regularly engage with migrants.
5500 copies of the booklet in English have been printed so far.
Three translated versions have also been produced (Arabic, South American Spanish, and Ukrainian). The booklet will be available in PDF format and will be accessible with QR Codes.
