About this project

This project is a health literacy programme with 7 sessions over 7 weeks. It is made for older people.

The programme focuses on 4 key areas:

  • moving well (Mobility)

  • medicines (Medication)

  • memory and mood (Mentation), and

  • what matters most to you (What matters to Me).

There is also a session on healthy meals. The programme also helps people build digital skills, like using a phone or finding information online.

Each week includes practical activities. Guest speakers from the HSE and other public services may also visit. Learners get helpful resources and a handbook made for the programme.

My Health Matters helps people feel more confident. It supports people to talk about their health and get the help they need.

The programme is shaped by the people who take part. Their experiences and feedback help improve the programme for the future.
