“I thank the organizers of this trip, teachers, and Anastasia for such a wonderful trip. I look forward to the next trip.”- Learners
The project aimed to provide informal learning opportunities for people seeking international protection and Ukrainians needing language support. These included taking part in physical activities, outdoor activities, and spending time in nature.
The project was based in the Burren Outdoor Education and Training Centre and took place between May and August 2004.
87 participants took part in a programme that promoted active participation, casual conversations, and physical activities in a natural environment.
This programme gave participants the time and space to learn at their own pace. It also encouraged learners to speak in English on a range of topics, such as the Burren, the weather, and what to see and look at.
The programme helped to empower individuals by improving their English skills and providing positive health and wellbeing experiences.
