About this project

This project engaged the local community in creative writing and storytelling workshops. These activities culminated in short plays performed during the Sean O'Casey arts festival.

The project also provided digital support training and fostered community engagement across generations.

More about this project

Local playwrights, lighting and sound engineers, actors, and literacy and digital training tutors worked together to deliver drama workshops. The in-person workshops took place at the Sean O'Casey Community Centre.

Participants created stories that were adapted into plays and performed over three evenings at the Sean O'Casey Theatre.

The course was the first of its kind at the Sean O'Casey Centre. Workshops brought together diverse age groups and backgrounds, and  supported participants with literacy needs.

The project has inspired plans for further workshops on script writing,  production,  and acting.
