About this project
This project aimed to encourage positive reading habits at home.
The course is a new family learning initiative for Tipperary ETB. It combined adult learning, children’s literacy, book ownership, crafts, and library engagement.
More about this project
Two-hour weekly family learning sessions took place over six weeks in each school. Adults explored each book first, then children joined for shared story time and themed craft activities.
Primary schools recruited families, hosted sessions, and created a welcoming environment. Tipperary library service provided 240 storybooks and hosted library visits where families received library cards. Each family also received a new children’s book weekly.
“The course was perfect. Me and my boy enjoyed spending time together.” - quote from a parent
