This project helped Roma community members, migrants, and international protection applicants to use smartphones to access government and financial services.

The project focused on smartphone-based digital literacy rather than computer-based learning, reflecting how participants access services in daily life. It helped vulnerable groups who had real-world digital needs.  

Kerry ETB tutor Peter Kean delivered six 90-minute workshops between September and November 2025 in Tralee.

The course covered practical smartphone use, including

  • access to the myGov website,

  • medical cards,

  • online banking,

  • the Irish Immigration Service (INIS),

  • data security, and

  • internet safety.
