Digital literacy learning for local communities

The project partners were:

  • South Wicklow Further Education and Training

  • Wicklow County Council

About this project

This project is designed for learners who want to improve their digital literacy skills. It caters to jobseekers, older adults, and individuals who feel excluded from online services.

The DigLit programme takes place in local libraries in Arkow and Carnew, ensuring that learning happens in accessible community settings. Training sessions began in 2025 and continue in 2026.  They take place weekly in small, supportive groups.

Learners build confidence through hands-on learning that supports everyday needs. Educators use in-person workshops, deliver clear demonstrations, and provide individual support. This approach allows learners to progress at their own pace.
