About this project
This project promoted literacy and cultural exchange through storytelling workshops for the Roma and Ukrainian communities in Longford.
The workshops:
promoted literacy development through storytelling in English,
provided a platform for individuals to share their lived experiences,
foster belonging and mutual understanding in Ireland, and
amplified voices from marginalised communities.
More about this project
Educators and learners published two books—one representing the Roma community and the other the Ukrainian community. It captured personal stories in English.
Children and young people were involved in the process by illustrating the books, which promoted inter-generational storytelling and heritage preservation.
