  • Templemore community services

  •  Youth Work Ireland Tipperary

About this project

This project helped families gain awareness of their income and spending habits and empowered them to manage their money confidently.

It was the first financial literacy project of its kind in Templemore. It promoted an inclusive approach. Parents could bring children and the workshops were free to attend.

More about this project

Anne Gleeson delivered in-person workshops over four weeks with refreshments, childcare support and private  consultations before and after sessions.

Anne showed learners how make small changes that can have a long-term impact, such as

  • shopping smarter,

  • looking at the unit price rather than the price of the items when grocery shopping.

  • using websites that compared ESB charges and phone charges.
