About this project

This project empowered learners to manage their financial wellbeing.

This was the first financial literacy programme delivered through Westmeath libraries.  It combined financial  expertise  with accessible  community-based library delivery.

More about this project

Five public sessions took place in libraries in Mullingar, Castlepollard, Kilbeggan, Moate, and Kinnegad.

Facilitators arranged one-to-one private sessions in libraries so people could have a more personalised talk. These sessions allowed learners to ask questions they may not have felt comfortable asking in group sessions.

Topics covered in one-to-one sessions included

  • how to avoid scams,

  • using banking apps, and

  • highlighting what digital resouces are available for people.
